Late Monday evening, May 26, 2004, Copper Range #29 arrived at Baraboo. The trucks parked in the Darrow grocery store parking lot overnight. Early May 27, the trucks continued on their last leg of the journey, pulling into North Freedom just after dawn. The unloading site had been previously prepared with installation of drainage tile and a temporary culvert to allow the trucks to back into position. Unloading began after 7:00am. The event was captured on the museum's live webcam. Nearly seven hours later, #29 was back together at its new home. Adverse weather had threatened the entire project with heavy rains at both Hancock and North Freedom. But the skies cleared in time for the move. All photos on this page by Pat Weeden.
