Coach Class
Our standard fare, this is the way most people experience Mid-Continent Railway Museum’s demonstration train ride. Windows line the sides of the cars allowing excellent viewing of the fall colors. Conductors ride with passengers to collect tickets and answer questions about the history of the railroad. Reservations are encouraged.
Caboose
Experience railroading from the vantage point of railroad crews. The caboose, typically found on the end of freight trains, provided train crews with (four) elevated seats from which to view their train and watch for any problems such as shifting loads or overheating axles. The lower level provided work and living space for the crew including a coal stove and beds (converted into benches for additional seating). Due to limited seating capacity, the caboose often sells out in advance.
Beer Train
On the 1:00 PM departure, in addition to regularly scheduled coach trains, our first-class cars, the Soo Line #2017 and the C&NW #440, will be added to the train to host our Beer Train passengers. During the ride, samples will be given out from select microbreweries along with snacks. Go to the Beer Train page for more details. Reservations are required.
Elegant Dinner Train
Dine in fine style, with a multi-course gourmet meal, served to you by uniformed friendly staff aboard our two first-class cars, the Soo Line #2017 and the C&NW #440. Dinner trains board at 4:45 p.m. for a 5:00 p.m. departure from North Freedom, on Saturday only. Reservations are required. Go to the Elegant Dinner Train page for additional details.
