Fall Trains and Guided Tours

It’s harvest time in Sauk County. Enjoy the beauty from aboard the train as the leaves start to change during the crisp fall season. Enjoy a ride down Mid-Continent’s tracks through rural Sauk County countryside.

Aside from the sights out the train windows, there is plenty to see at the Mid-Continent Railway Museum grounds. Get the full experience by taking the Vintage Rail Car Tour (additional fee), a guided walking tour through Mid-Continent’s finest restorations. The Vintage Rail Car Tours are offered only one weekend per year so don’t miss out!

This weekend typically coincides with the early stages of the area’s autumn foliage change. You can check the status of the fall colors in the region at http://www.travelwisconsin.com/fall-color-report. Additional events later in October include our Autumn Color Weekend and Pumpkin Special event.
