A Tribute to America

Come celebrate America’s independence at Mid-Continent Railway Museum with our Stars and Stripes Special weekend. What better way to celebrate America than to explore the history of the railroads that helped shape the nation. The train will be specially decorated in red, white and blue for the occasion. The weekend will also feature:

  • Free coach class train ride tickets for veterans and military personnel.
  • Free snow cone to all train ticket holders.
  • $5 guided tours of Mid-Continent’s Machine Shop and Engine House will also be available July 4-6 at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. These walking tours will be an hour long. Start the tour by seeing the fully functional vintage machines that help to restore and keep our fleet in service. Then, step back in time into our engine house and see the components of a steam engine that is under restoration. This is a one-of-a-kind experience that has never been offered before. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity.
