Welcome to Mid-Continent’s On-Line Archives, a portal to our Digital Collections.
PAUL SWANSON POSTCARD COLLECTION – This private collection has been compiled by Mid-Continent member Paul Swanson. The collection consists of several hundred postcards, depicting a variety of railroad images from the Golden Age of Railroading (1880-1916). A unique feature of this collection is that a majority of these postcards are “real photo” postcards.
WOODEN CAR/ROLLING STOCK BUILDERS – The Rolling Stock website is a fantastic resource for historical information, data, photos and more on wooden railroad cars and builders. This is an independent effort on the part of Mr. Hayes Hendricks, who donated the contents of his website to Mid-Continent Railway Museum, where it is now hosted.
GAZETTE ARCHIVE – Read past issues of Mid-Continent Railway Historical Society’s official member magazine, the Mid-Continent Railway Gazette. Browse by issue or use the search box to find specific content.
AUDIO ARCHIVE – Recordings of steam locomotives operating at Mid-Continent Railway Museum. Recordings were created by member Paul Swanson.
VIDEO ARCHIVE – Television commercials, time-lapse recordings and historic VHS recordings of C&NW 1385 on the road in the 1980’s.
WALLPAPER – Enjoy the images of Mid-Continent and Golden Age Railroading on your computer every day!
